The normal way to launch Keyboard Viewer - Version: 2.0, 5/3/2005 07:37PM PST

For those of you who haven't figured it out yet, don't feel bad... it took me a while to find the Keyboard viewer as well.
Select the little flag on the menu bar and then "Keyboard Viewer". Yes that's it. That's all this application does for you.
If the Flag or Keyboard doesn't show up then go to System Preferences... International... and select the Keyboard Viewer option.

Doesn't work in another language - Version: 1.0, 4/23/2005 06:28AM PST

Hi,
I've been looking for such a software, but unfortunately, this one doesn't work with non-US keyboards. When you launch it, it looks ok and show the right keys. But as soon as you hit one of the modifiers (Apple, Shift, CTRL, etc), the display reverts to american QWERTY. So it's not exactly useful. Unfortunately...

Nice little APP
I couldn't find Key Caps in Panther and missed it to tell me what keys did what!
I am not worried re the fonts issue, just like to have the key alternatives back!

Neglected to add, in case it's any use to anyone (including the developer) that I'm using OS X 10.3.3. It could be an issue, I guess.

This seems like a very useful utility on the face of it.
I like that it floats above apps until it's closed, for example, and that it seems quite quick.
The major problem, however, is that it doesn't show all typefaces. For some, it reverts to the default font, and it doesn't seem to matter whether they're TrueType, PostScript or DFont.
This is particularly the case for many (indeed, most) of my pi fonts, which are the ones for which I most need an app like KeyKaps. Perhaps it has something to do with the ability of KeyKaps to render the fonts.
Whatever is the case, unfortunately it's the old Character Palette (which I don't find a terribly utilitarian tool -- too complex for my humble needs) for now, but I'll be watching progress of KeyKaps with interest.

Got the download going by trying again and it seems to be a handy little utility for seeing what is on the option, and shift/option variations of all the keys. Thanks.
