iTMS Extractor Troubleshooting Reportapplication didn't work but not blaming the app, see below - Version: 1.0, 5/22/2005 02:49AM PST

Mac OS X 10.3.9
iTunes 4.8
Quicktime 6.5.2 Pro

I pulled an overnight load of the new Shakira music video - http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewVideo?b=a&videoId=62777981 - on dial-up, which loaded entirely by 4:30. I used the app to make the .mov file from the music video. Then when I opened the movie in Quicktime, I get this error message:

You may experience problems playing a video track in "[filename]" because there is an error in the program. Would you like to close the movie or continue?

The video is blank, literally, because the background of the Quicktime window shows up. When I try to go through the movie in Quicktime, no video appears, and Quicktime crashes. (I used multiple filenames for the file, including the default "iTMS Extractor.mov", "Shakira.mov", and even the all-lowercase "vi.mov" for additional filename compatibility.)

I'm guessing that, thus far, it is not an application problem. Here's why: After reading through http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20040428183055735 (go down to the first May 1 comment) and doing the music video copy over from the temp folder over to my desktop and naming the file appropriately, Quicktime gave me the same problem. I even tried the Applescript posted below that tip. Same problem. The tip right below that suggested using a different extension, but that didn't work. I even tried renaming the file to .mpg and played it in VLC but that gave me a black picture. The June 4 tip about saving the music video didn't work on the first step. The last time confirmed my suspicions by the statement "Under Tiger with Quicktime 7 and iTunes 4.8, the video[s]...won't play when copied out or renamed." So iTunes 4.8 screwed things up majorly.

I'll def. be using the iTMS Extractor site (pain to figure out what the invites were all about, though, plus one of the text fields didn't have a lable or name beside it) to get my videos.
