Product Description:

HippoDraw provides a highly interactive data analysis environment. A data source for HippoDraw is typically a NTuple. A number of visual Data representations can be made with this data. They are typically placed in Canvas Window. HippoDraw has highly interactive controls on the data representations via a dialog window called the Inspector. For example, one can change the width of the bins of a histogram via a slider and see the histogram plot re-display itself many times a second. See Inspector Controls for a description of the available controls.

HippoDraw CommentaryMore on installation of 1.15.6.2 - Version: 1.15.6.2, 12/10/2005 12:38PM PST

The .pkg installs files in /usr/local.
Warning: My /usr/local is a symbolic link to a directory on an external disk, and this link gets blown away by the installer! (It is *just* a link, so no permanent damage done.)

As much as I would like to use HippoDraw, its set of dependencies is offputting, so I'm going to wait for a while before trying a later version.

I tried briefly to build from source but gave up after the fink-installed boost libraries were not acceptable (AFAIK) to configure, even when I passed
--with-boost-lib= and --with-boost-libname= to the configure script.

I suspect that those willing to go to these lengths are already using fink, so more support for fink-installed tools would be much appreciated.

HippoDraw CommentaryProblem with this installation - Version: 1.14.3, 6/3/2005 11:24AM PST

Seems that this was compiled with a hardcoded link that should have been fixed. When I try to launch it, I get this error:

dyld: /Applications/HippoDraw1.14.3/hippodraw.app/Contents/MacOS/hippodraw can't open library: /Users/rdm/root/lib/libCore.dylib (No such file or directory, errno = 2)

Since I don't have a user named rdm on my machine, my guess is that that is the username for the person who compiled this package.
