This program doesn't work at all. Mainly because it's been removed from the server and I can't download it.

Chat Client Commentarywhat a bunch of whiners - Version: 7.96, 10/17/2004 12:20PM PST

1) I fail to see why it needs to be open-source. As for money, you don't HAVE to pay to use the program. all it does is remove a popup when you start it.

2) You are right, 2 chat networks are not most, but they aren't ALL of them either. Therefore it is correctly described.

"Connects to most Java based chat servers."

Seems to have the option to connect to TWO servers not what I would call Most, thanks for the wasted download.

It's nice to know there's other gay Mac users out there (emphasis on the out). It's also nice that there's great software to connect us all together.

The developer really really needs to release this into open-source..

Especially considering he's making money off of a chat network that someone else runs (not to mention removing ads, this also "stealing" in a sense from PlanetOut / Gay.com, since a major source of revenue is no longer generating impressions or click-throughs)

It's only fair..

Just my $0.02.

Chat Client ReviewTHE way to do gay.com chat - Version: 7.93, 8/24/2004 11:56AM PST

Greet product. So much more reliable than gay.com's java-based chat. Nice-to-have addition in this version is the bouncing dock icon alert for private chat windows that are in the background.

ChatClient versions are quickly updated when something changes on gay.com.

This program works well and is updated very often. The bugs have been minimal, but have been taken care of right away when they exist. A better alternative to chatting through the web-site.

I'm a homosexual Mac user, and being able to chat online with my fellow gay geeks is of great value to me...

3 thumbs up ;-) !

Chat Client ReviewThe updates to this venerable chat client are worth it - Version: 7.9, 5/2/2004 09:40PM PST

I've been using Chat Client for over two years, and its come a long ways from the iffy-old days when the Windows version had far more features than the step-child Mac version did. Nowadays, they are nearly equal for features and updates. The programmer is a great guy who actually responds quickly to any problems with the chat client and is constantly updating it. The price is well worth it.
