Cheap Impostor Commentarydropping and changing text problem - Version: 3.1.1, 5/14/2009 07:06AM PST

k_c_wolfe
I've used the program for about a week, and have noticed that it drops some special characters in some fonts when imposing the pages. I also noticed that some fonts actually changed from the original PDF file to some other font, even tho the font was embedded in the original file. It's a great little program, but i'm not sure i can count on it to convert the PDF files perfectly.
Also, I found if I reconverted the file again the special characters were there...sometimes.
Just some information for potential users...

Cheap Impostor Troubleshooting Reportpage calibration - Version: 3.1.1, 3/23/2009 09:09AM PST

Rob van de Werken
Overall I am very content with Cheap Impostor, however I recently met with a problem.
As my pages were printed slightly off centre, I tried tot use the page calibration function. It didn;t do anything. I even tried with some "unrealistic large" numbers, but even then the page centering didn't change a bit. Anyone who can help me?

Cheap Impostor CommentaryFixed problem of losing ends of lines - Version: 3.1, 6/23/2008 06:18PM PST

nrgoss
Mr McNamee his own self could not have been more helpful in responding to my query regarding the ends of lines getting cut off when I printed out booklet pages from Cheap Impostor: All I had to do was adjust the zoom. I dragged the button on the zoom bar to .67 and voila, the lines appeared in their entirety on each page. Perhaps other people like myself who are not so intuitive about computers can find this information helpful. The creator of this software is extremely responsible and generous with his time.

Cheap Impostor Troubleshooting ReportLosing ends of lines - Version: 3.1, 6/4/2008 06:55AM PST

I am basically delighted with using Cheap Impostor to create booklets for the writing classes I teach. It is user-friendly for novices like myself, it is astonishingly quick, and the result is professional looking, My only concern is that I keep losing the ends of lines on the right hand margins of all the printouts, odd and even. The margins just don't seem correct. I use a manual printer which is perfectly efficient. I would like to know if there is something I can do to adjust the margins so the ends of each line are not clipped off by about 3 characters. Thank you.

This is my booklet (and multi-signature book) imposition software of choice. It handles bleeds, creep, gutters, and is only limited by the type of printer (and printer settings) you use to output the results. The author even throws in some how-to guidelines for binding your own books!

I use this programme a lot and the new ability to pre view ones work while adjusting offsets and size is a great addition. A elegant and easy to use piece of software.
Thanks Dylan.

Previously thought this was just not possible with desktop publishing. I print a fair amount of pdf docs for review (work for ad agency) and always have to deal with not being able to see it how it's supposed to be. No longer!

I will also begin making my own little projects that I never did because I never thought it possible. Just printed a little DIY planner for my wife.

Thanks man.
