I'm new to garageband, and to macs, and I wanted to give this program a try. After moving the component into the designated folder, nothing new seems to have occurred in garageband. I'm on a macbook pro, mac osx 10.4.8, using a novation k-station synth. Should MidiO be listed in the info area on the right, along with all the other instruments? I'm not seeing it there. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

MidiO does *ok* with some Midi Out duties. But I may have pushed it too far.
With my Atari ST MIDI'd *IN* to my Mac and recording with Garage Band (same tempo but, alas, no sign of real MIDI Sync/MTC/clock), GB does a fine job recording. I play my transferred compositions back inside GB using the software instruments, and it's right on time and in tempo.
But, I have external synths to go with these songs, and GB doesn't quite measure up to them.
With midiO the songs - even if I'm playing a track solo - are totally warped. You'd think there was a drunk in the room on the keyboards! Why the sync issue occurs is beyond me - but I'd hazzard to guess that midiO's buffer is either too small or conflicts - somewhere - with GB.
The developer is DEFINITELY on the right track. Give us a version 2 with options (e.g. for buffer size) or more direct integration with GB (vs. the audio units path). Add some sort of sync (perhaps wired into Apple's own Core MIDI?) and, heck, we'll practically offer to bear your kids. (Well, not really that.)

Many thanks for the time and effort in developing this freeware, it is greatly appreciated.
Now I have MIDI OUT recognised as an additional device, for those looking for 'triangles' look at the drop down menu!! I am using a Roland (Edirol) UM-1 USD midi interface. Unfortunately I'm getting a total of no midi out signals though it. I'm using Mac OSX (10.3.8).
Any ideas?

The author should be charging at least 10 bucks for this version. Works like a charm. If you own Garage Band and some external MIDI synths, you should have this tool.

... should definetly with pictures/ screenshots. I couldn't find the "triangle" to define the MIDI output and gave up after 10 minutes.

Does what it needs to.
An installer would have earned a 5th star for polish, but as it, rtfm 'n it's not a problem :¬]
