I've already posted a review of this app, but I figured I'd post a list of my most-wanted features now that I've had some time to play around with it:

1. The ability to use the return key to make a carriage return. This is a must-have as all of my entries are pretty long. I end up copying and pasting a return from TextEdit just to make a decent-sized entry that's not all in one column.

2. Less CPU issues. There are some major issues in Journal.app that take up 90% or more of my CPU per Activity Monitor. Typing is rather slow and takes up more CPU time than it should, and searching is just unusable. It takes over 10 seconds to type one letter into the search box.

3. A nifty web application can be found that reads your LiveJournal and tells you what the most common words you use are. (Aside from common words like the or and or punctuation.) That would be awesome in Journal.app.

4. Printing entries would be handy.

5. Search would be thousands of times better if it wasn't case sensitive.

Great app, these features would make it greater.

Journal ReviewGood item with a fatal flaw - Version: 1.1, 5/25/2004 08:33AM PST

This is the best journal program I've seen for the Mac. The interface, much like iCal or iTunes, looks like an Apple product and the interface makes sense. Much better interface than any other Mac journal program.

There is one big problem... the return and enter keys do nothing in the journal entry screen, so you have to copy a blank line and paste it when you'd normally press return.

Otherwise, nice app!

Journal CommentaryNice but!! - Version: 1.0, 4/22/2004 08:24AM PST

A potentially very useful application but one should, at least, be able to go to a new line to enter additional entries. Putting all your thoughts of the day into one lump sum, just doesn'rt make sense.
