Folder Contents CM CommentaryConfused Plug-in CM - Version: 1.5.5, 4/10/2005 02:56PM PST

I just don't get it, the developer never replies to threads like this.
But as recent reviewers have said Unsanity's fruit menu does the
same thing and is only $10 plus it does a whole lot more.

Why the developer keeps on with this CM is bewildering as the
difference between the 'Launch items X' Browse Volumes Plug-in
and the included move items Plug-in, and this CM seem now so
blurred that they have now a become a weird confusing mix up
of products - all being tweaked continuously but hardly ever
revolutionary ones seems to have even confused the developer.

If you like this CM's functionality - you would be wise to purchase
Naratt's 'Launch Items X CM' instead as it's only a buck more but
adds a host of other useful tools.

This utility has become such a staple to my navigation that I find myself moving to use it on machines at my work. Of course, it's when something you depend on isn't available that you most realize how useful it is. I love it and recommend it. I suspect that users who offer a negative review on the functionality of such a utility, rather than on the utility itself, are missing the point.

Folder Contents CM ReviewXeater Misses the Point - Version: 1.0.7, 8/1/2004 09:24AM PST

If Xeater only has to deal with folders 2 or 3 levels deep I can see his point, not that I'd ever (not until I get to hell one day) consider using column view as default. ;) In deeply nested folders, and I'm guessing Xeater maybe uses 10.2.8 where it would work easier than 10.3.4 where one click in its browser immediate displays all folders at next level in list or icon view, his system might prove a bit difficult to use with directories 8 and 10 deep like I have (475,000 files, 70 GB data on my G5). Take a wrong turn, so to speak, and you have a problem. The suggested use of this CM I can see for accessing frequently used folders by creating aliases, if only on a temporary use basis. On the newer and faster G4 and G5 machines (which includes my PowerBook G4), use of a CM is virtually instantaneous and this would give quick access to finding and launching files. I don't plan to use this. I use DragThing (grand central station for aliases) and the 10.3.4 browser to access folders, but can see this would be a good idea. Have 200,000 files and only 20 GB of data? Then Xeater makes a good point. Sorry, no beer money from me, Xeaster, and rated 5 stars to offset your rating in part. Useful CM if needed.

Folder Contents CM ReviewPerfect for Me - Version: 1.0.6, 7/10/2004 12:16PM PST

Exactly what I needed. Exactly what I wanted. Do you keep aliased folders on your desktop? Just want to open a file from there? This is perfect. Don't want to overload the Dock with folders for quick access? Put 'em on your desktop, and use this to click the folder and see the list of files just like the Dock.

Perfect.

Folder Contents CM ReviewNew Mac OS X feature!! - Version: 1.0.5, 6/19/2004 01:17AM PST

I found this "hidden" feature on OS X that everyone must try right away! Check this out, open a finder window in column view (you can make column view the default view). Now, find a folder you're interested in, it can be any folder you like. Ready? Good, now use this trick to reveal the contents of the folder: click on it. Whoa! Let's try again: click on it. Whoa! The columns all shift over very groovily and magically ALL OF THE FOLDER'S CONTENTS ARE REVEALED!

Ok, now you all owe me ten bucks. Since I'm such a nice guy I'll settle for five as long as you send it ASAP. Have a nice day!

Folder Contents CM CommentaryUnnecessary App over-lap ? - Version: 1.0, 4/18/2004 05:59AM PST

The boundries of Narattaphol releases are getting more and more confusing.
Seems a lot of unnecessary over-lap between this developers products.
What's the difference between the 'Browse Volumes Plug-in' and this CM ?
and what's the difference between Multiple Launcher X and Launch Items X.

Yes I understand some users may want a cut down or just a single feature of
one of these CM tools but it just seems so superfluous and convoluted to us the
end users.

For a few bucks more Ittec ($24) and FruitMenu ($10) both give this CM a good
run for it's power and money - and both are well worth a try.

Just installed. Didn't require restart to activate, as the installer advised. Seems to work without a hitch. Very nice idea.
