Product Description:

BiblePod allows you to transfer books and chapters from the King James Version bible to your iPod. It takes use of the Notes feature built-in to 3rd generation iPods and iPod mini's.

What's new in this version:

BiblePod has been updated to version 1.0.1. The Windows version has been completely rewritten from scratch using C#. A big thanks goes to Stephan Hilbelink for his BiblePod icon! Also both versions now load the XML text in a separate thread, to speed up the apps' startup times.

I see the books in canonical (rather that alphabetical) order on my iPod, so I'm unsure why another user mentions that. What I find odd is that I have to install book-by-book, because of the installer app. In fact, installing a book requires 3 steps: select book, select "all" chapters, click "copy to iPod" button. This wouldn't be such a problem if there weren't 66 books! The effort that went into this project is appreciated, though.

I installed this program and was outraged to find that some of the passages which I have fully memorized are WRONG. For example, Psalm 23:1-6 "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures is written "The Lord he's a shepherd, I shall lie down in a green pasture." I can NOT recommend this program.

BiblePod ReviewIt hasn't quite got through the 'Pearly gates'! - Version: 1.0, 8/17/2004 02:08AM PST

It's a great idea, but a little fiddly to instantly get to the verse you want as the books appear in alphabetical order rather than 'biblical' order which, strangely, they do in the software. Also, the verses and chapters don't always appear in chronological order which, again, they do in the software. The software takes a while to install the books, although I am installing a book at a time rather than a chapter or verse, but can take a good few minutes for each book (15" iMac 800MHz to 4G 20Gb iPod) and then it takes a while for the books to load up into view on my iPod. I am not particularly techy minded so the installation and loading up times may be very respectable, it just doesn't look cool when your showing someone your cool new gizmo and the fact you've got your bible on it but have to keep saying, "No, wait, it's nearly finished…"
I would recommend this if you are going to just have verses as and when you need/want them, but not if you want the whole bible at your, digital, fingertips. But you can't complain at the price especially when you see the price of printed bibles these days!!
