Just what I was looking for, after a few modifications with emacs:
1. changed the default configuration directory so I don't have to use -x all the time
2. changed some of the output so I wouldn't get messages like
"Backup of this source took 1 minutes and 0 seconds seconds"
3. corrected the spelling of "finnished" throughout

This tool does not support resource forks, so unless you want to mangle your files you'll have to download an additional package and figure out how to install it.
You'll also have to know how to add cron jobs and monitor them.
This is an admin only type tool. Regular users will need to look elsewhere.
