Product Description:

Adium is a fast and free instant messaging client which supports AIM, ICQ, Jabber, MSN, Yahoo!, Google Talk, Yahoo! Japan, Bonjour, Gadu-Gadu, Novell Groupwise, and Lotus Sametime. Adium supports beautiful WebKit message display, tabbed messaging, encrypted chat, file transfer, and more. Give it a try; you won't look back.

Adium is currently translated into Catalan, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Norwegian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Swedish, and Traditional Chinese.

I do like the idea of being able to connect to all different messenger services- and the fact us mac users can communicate with myspace messenger users is a blessing! I do get my friends telling me I'm offline though, even though I'm not, but hey nothings perfect and I always seem to 'reconnect' shortly after.
I reckon if this software did everything that mercury can do, or the latest msn for windows, this program would destroy all the other messengers. Come on guys go for it! crush em with yer bare haaaaaaands!!

It's a great client -- if only they would fix the bug where I'm unable to set for *all my accounts* the private setting to allow contacts only from contacts on my contact list (the setting doesn't stick). Every time I log in, I get 15 or so unsolicited messages. Why they haven't fixed this yet is beyond me, because it's a longstanding bug judging from their bug tracking system.

Since upgrading to 1.2.4, I have been unable to connect/use ICQ. This happened the moment I upgraded and I've found several posts where others are having the same problem. Adium posted somewhere that the problem was with AOL, but from everything I can tell, it's a flaw in the newest update.

Now I'm trying to find out how to revert to 1.2.3.
