Product Description:

The Music Recommendation System is an automated system that provides music recommendations specifically tailored to each user to find new music that they might like. This system, designed by students at the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), operates by taking ratings (or playcounts) from your own iTunes playlists and comparing them against other users who have used the recommendation system. Right now we have a very small number of users, and so the recommendations will most likely be laughable. However they will get better over time as more people enter into the system; meanwhile, enjoy while the numbers grow. Download the client try it out. Tell your friends to try MRS to help improve the results. To learn more details, see developer page.

What's new in this version:

Adds "Save as" to save your recommendations to an html file.

All the claims of it taking forever to process ratings are no longer a problem. It's consistently 5.72 minutes for me. I almost wish it were longer, since that would mean people were still using it. It's a great idea, it just never really got enough use to be truly useful. The iTMS really needs something like this.

Gotta agree with robfol. I checked to see if my recommendations were ready was told to wait a day. Then two. After waiting for three, I was told it would take 23 minutes; after half an hour, it went back up to half a day. Arrgh. At no time, btw, did I hit "resend ratings" button, which would have dropped me out of the queue.

Still haven't received any feedback on my iTunes list. I installed and first ran the program on April 9. I look forward to getting a response; just wish the servers weren't so backed up.
