Air America Receiver Troubleshooting ReportI know this is stupid, and thanks for the neat app.... - Version: 1.0, 8/24/2004 08:33AM PST

Hi friend. Thanks for the nifty little button. This thing does not work with the current Realplayer (not by default anyway, and I don't know how to get it to work). Whenever I cick on it, it makes me choose the Realplayer from a long list of programs. The old version was called RealOne. The new version is not. I believe there lies the root of the problem. I know this seems lame, but I know little to nothing about how this works, and it sure is handy to have. Thanks again-

Air America Receiver Troubleshooting ReportQUESTION - Version: 1.0, 7/19/2004 01:07PM PST

Thanks for the convenient little doohickie. Groovy...but ONE QUESTION (which doesn't apply to your software directly, but I hope someone can help me).
Prior to updating REALPLAYER a few weeks ago, I would click on your icon and instantly get Air America. Since I updated the player, now when I click on the icon I download a file, then have to click on the file. I've got cookies enabled and all that, but I can't seem to figure out why it doesn't behave like the old player. Maybe I inadvertently changed something along the way, as friends of mine say it works exactly as it always did. Am I missing something obvious in preferences?

Thanks. This is a nice little thing to have on the desktop.

Air America Receiver Usage TipiTunes can't play Air America Radio - Version: 1.0, 5/10/2004 12:37PM PST

mastgrr
As I said in the blog, so far as I know (unless there is a Real Player plugin somewhere), iTunes can't play Air America Radio because iTunes doesn't support the Real Audio Streaming File type that Real Player use.

Air America Receiver Commentarywhat is the point? - Version: 1.0, 4/8/2004 09:02AM PST

so all this does is keep you from having a temp file in your download directory, right? why not just add the air america link to your real player favorites? i don't understand why you would want to have a separate application just for this.

Air America Receiver CommentaryiTunes Radio - Version: 1.0, 4/6/2004 09:28PM PST

nostromo1965_dotmac
I just tried pasting the streaming URL into the "Open Stream" option in iTunes...no luck. The URL is coded for ".rm/rtsp" so iTunes can't handle it.

Just how *are* stations added to iTunes? I've always wondered.

.... that we could get this as a channel on our iTunes radio? Or is that a naive question?

Air America Receiver ReviewExcellent - Version: 1.0, 4/4/2004 07:39AM PST

I've been downloading software from this site for years and I have never made a comment before. AirAmerica Receiver works perfectly and is free! Simply click it open from the dock and it does the background work of getting the real file to play and erases the real file. It's not often that you find something this useful for free, what a nice suprise!
