Address Exchange CommentaryIt works nicely - Version: 1.6.1, 11/15/2005 07:18AM PST

Address Exchange works nicely, once you remember to run the small setup app beforehand. The app is pretty much self-explanatory. It easily synched about 700 addresses in my Filemaker database to the AddressBook. The main problem for me lies within the Apple Address Book, i.e. defining the fields etc.
For just 19 Euros this is a very worthwhile investment. The developpers are very responsive to questions, which I emailed.

Unfortunately the web site is a bit hard to navigate. It helped to make a reload of every single page with Safari, to see anything at all on the pages, but at last everything worked and I received the unlock code within 30 minutes after credit card payment.

I did pay for it and agree that their payment system and website need work. After navigating the site, I found the payment page and entered my info. An email appeared a few hours later and all was well.

I had to add a couple time fields to my database. butr after that the program added over a thousand addresses from my Filemaker 5.5 database to my Addressbook. It looks like it all came in clean. This is AWESOME!

My biggest feature request would some indication of what didn't import/sync correctly when errors occur. I don't see any indication of this now. This is definitely useful software, but price and communication issues on the website are a problem and a barrier to more sales.

Address Exchange CommentaryWell, it seems to work... - Version: 1.6.1, 4/3/2004 11:54AM PST

but they seem to be a bit English-challenged. Apparently the demo version only transfers five records (although it doesn't say this anywhere). And attempting to buy it takes you to a page where only Euros or CHF, whatever that is, are accepted. On the five records I transferred, fields seemed to go to the right place, after some hassles with the "database does not exist" error messages. I'm still not sure what I did that made this go away. I'm a little hesitant to undertake a credit transaction with a firm which is so weak in its language skills. Anybody know of a more communicative and businesslike developer with a similar product?
