i have an old version of MaxUAE (0.8.22b1). this version is much faster, the video emulation of the sdl version is very slow on my dual G5 2GHZ, but i dont know why

First I would say that is a good initiative.
Ok it works pretty good after changing rights (user intead of system), although the sound is quite buggy. Didn't have any crash, the shortcuts (f11+s , f11+q) are not really apropriate because f11 is used for exposé, so I cannot switch back to fullscreen. A little documentation won't hurt too.
