playing song - date and time - latest news - unread mail count - battery meter ... all in one place!

Tigger displays a scrolling ticker - either in the menubar or in a floating window. The actual content is provided by plug-ins, third party applications or by yourself using Tigger's AppleScript interface.

Four plug-ins are included:

Smiley Ticker (displays random Smileys and arbitrary images)
Time Ticker (displays time and date)
iTunes Ticker (display current iTunes or Audion track)
Battery Ticker (display battery status)

Additional plug-ins available:

News Ticker (displays news headlines from RSS feeds)
Mail Ticker (displays new mail count)
Birthday Ticker (searches Address Book and displays birthdays)

This is such an awesome program, but there is a problem when running the NewsTicker plug-in along with iTunes. It FREEZES! So if that problem could be fixed, it would be perfect. I will keep an eye out for an update, but absolutely love the software!!

Names, however unique, can't be trademarked, so "Tigger" really is probably safe so long as the developer doesn't associate it with Disney. The potential problem is associating an actual product with the name. I can write a novel titled "The Sun Also Rises" but might not be able to trademark that name for my program.

I think if I were the developer I would change it to "Trigger" - Version: 1.1, 4/10/2004 10:21AM PST

Trigger is a more discriptive name for the functions....AND it's safe!!!
