Version Tracker sezs:
" The information is superimposed on the desktop pattern and can't be removed by the user. "
Does that mean it's frozen on your desktop for life?

but here at versiontracker you cannot delete your own posts anymore, so one more comment to my feedback. I know that nearly every setting for this app can be managed by tweaking the preference file. So of course I meant that a GUI for this would be great, but the developer says he is working on that in the ReadMe.

Really a jewel for an office with some machines... Some config settings (position, color, information provided, maybe font size) would be great, but already this version is absolutely useful.
Nice app

DesktopID provides in one place -- most of the key info you'd ever need about a machine. A real jewel for techs or sysadmins. The the launch&use interface is great with superb documentation.
Two downsides: there is no GUI for config yet (but cmoning I suspect), and there is no dragging to relocate the window size or location (yet).
If you need one-stop info -- DesktopID is a great place to start, and I suspect more great things are coming.
