Can someone show me a site where I can get info on how to use this? How do you back the games up in your Mac?

The author's website has been down for quite a while. There is a stub page informing downloaders that the app is unavailable because too many websites linked directly to the fileinstead of to the page.

Of course, you buy used cartridges then use some utility software to back them up to your Mac. Then you can use SNES9X to emulate the SNES.

I've got a playstation->USB converter and one controller works fine but the other doesn't. The controller in the Player1 slot controls both players even though I set the 'keys' for the second player with the controller in the Player2 slot. It could be the adapter ($16 at playasia, IIRC) that's not passing on a unique id for each controller but whatever it is, it's annoying. Some games it's ok to pass the controller back and forth but for head-to-head types it's no good. I've tried plugging in different styles of controller (ie, P1;standard P2;no-name) and nothing changed(after confirming the no-name worked in the P1 slot).
Does it work with two of the same USB controllers? I would dig into it myself but am not at all familiar with HID stuff (just Cocoa). Maybe it's not checking enough of the controller's 'signature' to make a distinction between them? No clue, but I'd give a kidney for this setup to work.

HQ2x Filter still jittery, even on a 1ghz PBookG4 w/ 1gb of RAM... - Version: 1.43, 8/24/2004 04:10PM PST

I have a powerbook g4 17inch 1ghz w/ 1gb of ram... and most of the time the animation still jumps anywhere from 15fps to 48fps (I can get 60 fps w/ any other filter - 2xscale/sai/smooth/etc, but isn't the point of having a powerhouse computer like this not skimping on the graphics) with no other apps running. Any advice as to how I can somehow speed it up to the full, uninterupted 60fps?

the HQ site, you can see how their quality compares to 2xSAI, which until now was my favorite filter for SNES9x. Thanks alot!
Two New Filters = Better?

Actually, yes to a point. In appearance and functionality (having only used it for about 5 minutes) it is identical to 1.42v49 with the exception of two new filters. They eat up the same amount of power on my machine as the previously higher quality filters and have slightly better results. It's a noticeable difference in fullscreen, but not in windowed mode.
So, is it worth it? Sure, why not. You don't lose anything out of it. I use windowed, opengl blocky b/c I have a lot of background processes in the background, so using the better filters slows things down too much. Having those two filters just enhances it. So, if I felt like it, I could just use just this app and play a game with great quality.
(on a legal note, i do in fact own original snes cartridges for the games i have such as earthbound, final fantasy vi, and chrono trigger. this app is great since I can play my favorite snes games w/o having to go into the other room to play it on my snes. plus, save states and layers help me find hidden stuffs in the game ^^ )

Ok, the file you download IS NOT a gzip file. replace the gz extension with dmg and it'll unarchive using disk copy or just the standard osx tool built-in to panther no prob.
if i understand correctly, this is the same as the SNES9X 1.42v49 that was released 12/31/03 except it allows you to use two new filters. Haven't tried it yet, but I checked out more info on the filters using those links, so I figured it was worth a try after seeing how well they work. I'll post a review after I test it.
