Iceberg CommentaryMissing command-line interface - Version: 1.2.4, 10/23/2008 05:56AM PST

Very good and useful tool, especially for MacOS newbie developers like me, thanks a lot. It really saved me from the PackageMaker thingy.

Just one thing I'm missing badly - command-line interface to build the package would really be helpful. We have the extensive and complex build system which does all the job to build applications, utilities, preprocess and build help, resources and so on. And in the end I have to build the package manually :(

Iceberg ReviewJust What I Needed - Version: 1.2.2, 11/3/2006 05:56PM PST

Except for a time where I was getting "Nothing to install" errors (which was fixed by just starting from scratch), this application made a complex task within reach of the novice developer (such as myself). Well done!

Compared to PackageMaker, that is. And with more functionality. And a much better interface. And a price which can't be beaten. If it didn't already exist, it would have to be invented :)

After struggling for a while using PackageMaker to build my installer packages, I decided to look for a commercial product that would easily let me automate the package building process. I came across Iceberg and decided to give it a try. WOW! This is an awesome professional quality application. It does so much more than PackageMaker and has a strong intuitive UI. Using it you can easily setup your project and use the CLI ("freeze") to automate the package building process.

The support is also terrific. Stéphane turned around a custom change request I had within a few days.

Don't let the fact that the application is free fool you. I've paid quite a bit of money for professional software that doesn't work nearly as good as IceBerg. Kudos to Stéphane and thanks again for developing such a great app!

This is brilliant, top-notch work. Infinitely more usable than Apple's PackageMaker. Merci beaucoup, Stéphane! I would gladly pay for this. You should at least consider putting a PayPal link on your site to accept donations.

alternative to using packagemaker that comes with the developers tools. I set up both the exact same way...and packagemaker always gives me a bad package, where Iceberg using hte same information and options makes a workable package. I have no idea what Packagemaker is doing that I did not do, but it works for me.
