gTuner ReviewSimple, accurate, useful - Version: 1.0.7, 11/8/2009 04:18AM PST

I'm surprised with other bad comments. I use this tuner with an electric guitar and it does well. I noticed that with a mono cable (only the left channel is heard on the Mac), this software is not accurate (it's difficult to tune). But if I use a cable providing sound on both sides, it's perfect software. This kind of cable is mandatory so I don't see any problem. Thanks to the autor. This is free and it's doing well. Geat.

Tried tuning an acoustic guitar, using iSight mic, and both Auto and Manual modes. It couldn't give a consistent or stable reading on any of the strings. I couldn't really even tell if I was *near* an E - indicator was all over the map.

The full screen display is quite nice-looking! No points, though, since the functionality isn't there.

Get PerfectGuitar X, it's 2 bucks cheaper ($5) and has more features and works better. <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13350> Plus Perfect Guitar doesn't nag so bad while you're trying it out.

Not worth it. Very inaccurate for me. Tried it many times and the results are not good, definitely nowhere near in-tune. Whats the point of a tuner that doesnt tune accurately?

Bottom left corner displays audio input, but when (in system prefs) audio input changed to line in, gTuner doesn't update and/or no option to select line in? That would be nice. Straight line in to tuner.

This is just the sort of guitar tuner we have been waiting for on OSX Iam running 10.3.3 and the app does run OK.

It's a little hard to evaluate fully though for accuracy since the nagware message seems to pop up every 10 secs or so. the meter needle could be a little smoother and less jerky maybe setting it on a black background would help.

But 10 out of 10 for addressing the gap in the software market and I look forward to further betas
