Leechster is incompatible with iTunes 4.5, making it pretty much useless. As such, it has been discontinued.

It looks as if his summer intership at Apple is about to begin. This was a great piece of work, Mike. Hope you're able to shake things up with your internship. Good luck! Kudos from this Indiana boy (who moved from South Bend to San Diego) to another. Hope things work out up in Cupertino.

Well, it's time for the cat and mouse game of new protection / new way to break the protection.
Arrgh! I just want to save time syncing my music library across my computers!

The question is not if the program is legal, because it is. The question is if your *USE* is legal... by the wrong logic, computers should be banned and the entire internet too because they can be used to pirate video or audio.. come on. The problem isn't the tool, its the tool user. This goes back to the same exact debate behind gun control. It isn't the gun that's dangerous so much as *who* is weilding it for *what* intent. Hello.. Police have them, do we question that? NO, its all about *USE*... always has been, always will be. A psycho could kill someone with a butter knife but we don't call table knives illegal or ban them.. So.. here we go.
I *USE* this program to copy all my purchased music between my laptop and two desktops... all authorized legally to playback those Fairplay-DRM encrypted AAC files. (!)... You have a problem with that? Deal with it! Apple didn't include any automatic software mechanisms for copying the music files to all the authorized devices. This fills a need here. Apple should package it with iTunes IMHO. Go ahead. Flame me...

Used this program this afternoon to move purchased songs from my girlfriend's tablet PC (which doesn't have a CD burner) to my PowerBook. Worked like a charm - very fast over our AirPort network.
The icon in this version is a big step forward - but it looks too much like the Network Utility icon - it's easy to confuse them if they're both on the dock at the same time. Otherwise - GREAT! Keep up the good work!

I love this program, easier than the old terminal way of doing the same thing and more effective. As far at I don't care if it's your roommate, brother, sister, whatever, it's still stealing., that's bullsh*t. There are plenty of legal uses for this, as well as for many p2p but this won't be stopped because you are not getting music from total strangers. If it's your family member, you could just borrow the CD if you wanted to do it that way. Some people would prefer this as its much faster than ripping a CD numerous times. Besides, the only places this really would be abused is on college campuses but the colleges probably support it as it won't attract much attention from the RIAA because there is no way for them to monitor it unless they were on the LAN themselves.
Works as advertised

Works well -- made it easy to transfer an album from my Windoze machine (which I use almost exclusively to rip CDs from my huge collection) to my Mac. I wish you could transfer files without having to play them first, but maybe this is planned for a future release? I hope so. Then I could turn off file sharing on the WinXP altogether and go direct to iTunes. (See? Not all uses for this are illegal!)

Apps like this one are the reason Apple removed the ability to share tunes over the internet. Do you want them to remove sharing all together? I don't care if it's your roommate, brother, sister, whatever, it's still stealing. And why do you think MyTunes got shut down!?!? Apple Legal doesn't mess around...
