59-8 ReviewGeneral Feddback and wish list... - Version: a9, 4/14/2005 06:12AM PST

I find only being able ot hypothetically search 20 maps not enough eval time...
can't size the window... need to be able to grab the bottom right corner and "grow" it... it is kind of a waste of landscape space - unless you have a 12" iBook..
Not able to click on cities in countires... would like to see / or be able to add links to places I want to visit... or have an interest.
All in all an OK app but as we used to say on Dick Clark's American Bandstand... it's a nice tune but I don't think I want to dance to it, so I will give it a one....

I will watch for improvements before I clunk my PayPal down...

No installation problems, no mixups on which world is being shown. It would be good to be able to scroll the country list, but that's a minor issue in my mind. 59-8 is worth every penny and probably a lot more. I sent kudos (and the shareware fee) to the developer.

...would be better with :
- Drag&Drop install (sorry I hate installers - if you have to have one I'd suggest a .pkg)
- Make the country list support mouse scroll wheel.

First of all Celestia shows the universe. This app is designed to show our planet which is known as Earth. Secondly this app does NOT cost 10 dollars it is priced at$6.95. Thirdly it does NOT crash, cause conflicts with the OS (in this case 10.3.4) It is NOT unstable and the maps are sharp and clear and beautiful. In addition the installer works perfectly and the registered version is a bargain as I would have paid triple the price to have it. Further Celestia which has NO relation functionwise to this product although free is really designed for Windoze and many of its functions are crippled.Succinctly this is a great app and it is well designed.

Okay this app costs $10 and shows a med-res picture fo the earth. For free, you can download Celestia and see the entire known universe in greater detail. It's pretty much better in every imaginable respect.

Says a library is missing. Don't remember the name of the library but it sounded like it had do with Macromedia Director. After installing this program and restarting wacom tablet did not work and driver had to be reinstalled.

This application has the potential to be a killer app - but alas, its a 1/10 app at the moment.

Showing countries, capitals and a whole host of other things couldbe added.

Until then 1 star for effort

- Looks like a lot of work has been going on since my last review
and except for me not being able to install the latest version
( why does it need an installer and admin password any way ? )
it's looking much better - the quiz idea is good if a little obscure
in finding/learning about longitude/ latitude number was in anyway
fun ? - still looks much better - couldn't install so I'll stop at that.
