Fast DVD Copy ReviewSeeming Sound Software, while it worked... - Version: 3.6, 8/12/2009 05:14AM PST

adwade
I purchased this software on Jul 01, 2008 via a MacZot special and used it for almost a year with pretty good success. However, last month all the sudden the website (http://www.fastdvdcopy.com/) completely disappeared?! And since the software must contact their Server to verify the validity of it's own Serial Number, the software has become unusable.

Mine worked flawlessly until I moved my programs to a (cloned) larger harddrive, and then it started acting up. It would not automatically eject the DVD (or CD) once it had read the source, and sometimes it would fail to complete the burning of the target disk.

I contacted the vendor and was told to try reinstalling the program again, but before I could do so their WEBSITE disappeared. So the software will no longer function now as it should.

Out of 23 DVD's, I've managed to backup 7. At $100 this software is overpriced and does NOT work. I've had better results with DVD2oneX. Everyone, PLEASE don't waste your money.

I have used Fast DVD Copy since version 2. I have used it on G4s, G5s, and Intel Macs from macbook to minitower over the last few years. I have used it with the internal Mac supplied superdrives and both external and internal aftermarket superdrives from Sanyo and yamaha. I have NEVER had a failed burn. I have had a failed read/compresion due to a new copy protection scheme which the free updates fix, but never have i had a wasted DVD inhundreds of burns. If you want free get mactheripper. If you want flexible, easy, offering the option of single or dual layer burn, and one click which still offers you the option to save the TS file like i do........... then you want this software. Users waste DVDr's, not Fast DVD Copy....... it is the best at what it does.

Fast DVD Copy ReviewLove it, but the licensing req is lame - Version: 4.0.6, 8/20/2007 09:51AM PST

I don't understand the negative reviews on here, unless they are users frustrated with the product's slightly onerous licensing and high price. Those two things aside, this is a really great program. If you can't afford it or can't figure out how to pirate it, move on to something else but don't submit a low review because of it.

I haven't had a failed burn or a disc that failed to be burned yet. I've only done about 10 discs so far - all so my young son can scratch up the copy instead of the original when he changes discs... No hiccups, extremely easy to use, dual-layer works perfectly, and it's fairly speedy on a fairly new MacBook Pro. Love it!

Don't bother with FAST DVD Copy - fails 4 out of 5 times.
DVD2OneX is, in my opinion, the superior of the two. 80% positive results with the latter.
The "support" team at FAST DVD COPY took 6 weeks to answer my mail - with a comment that if it doesn't work on my sister's computer then she should "perhaps consider spending money on a new one". (She has a G4 Dual OSX 10.4).....weird guy.

This is the worst software I have ever purchased. It doesn't work and I wasted many, many DVDs trying. Don't be fooled by it's supposed easy interface and slick features. It doesn't work and It's slow too. You'll die waiting for it not to work. After wasting an hour, all you'll get is an error message and a coaster.

I tried getting a refund and their response was to try an earlier version. These guys should be run off the Web.

Any positive reviews were probably written by the scam artists who botched the code.

You want good software, try MacTheRipper. It works and it's free. No wonder it's one of the top five downloads.

I also used it for several years without problem. It works well. Support is good (but nearly not necessary).
