Crystal ReviewGreat VST and AU Instrument. - Version: 2.4.9f, 9/20/2008 07:58PM PST

I really love the sounds that come out of Crystal. Although some patches sound gimmicky most are top notch and really cut through analog synth pads.

If you are making music with DAW's and Virtual Instruments then Crystal should be in your list of Virtual Instruments. Make sure to download and install the 20MB soundfont file and the extra presets. They are worth the time it takes to download and install them. Best of all this cool synth if free!

Crystal beats a lot of synths that cost money so for free Crystal is a must have!

Kudos to the developers!

Crystal ReviewPowerful and versatile FREEWARE!!!! - Version: 2.4.9e, 9/8/2007 02:31PM PST

I have used it in GB and DP5. Works great. It gives you very flexible synthesis options. Nice envelopes, great editing features. You can use the SoundFonts that come with it, including a larger download that expands the raw wave data you can sythesize with. There are also some steps you can take to create your own soundfonts to use in Crystal. With the variety of sythesis techniques it makes available, and the ability to use custom soundfonts, it's very powerful indeed.

It is helpful and fun for teaching basic synthesis. What a lucky thing to discover Crystal. Enjoy!!

Crystal ReviewSounds Good - Version: 2.4.9d, 2/13/2006 09:56PM PST

After a second attempt to launch it, I am finally able to use it within GarageBand. Unfortunately no success in NiceCast yet for me. Works great in GB and sounds good. Great options too. Very nice! Keep up the good work.

Crystal Commentarydoesnt seem to work for me - Version: 2.4.9c, 1/23/2006 02:23AM PST

I have tried both the VST and AU installations and attempting to use it with Nicecast effects under Mac OS X 10.4.4 to no avail. Doesnt crash but no sound with any of the presets. Other VST / AU plugins working fine. Could be a good item once working. Not sure if problem exists on my end so no rating yet.

This is one really wickedly cool plug-in! The variety of sounds is unbelievable, the level of control is excellent, and it works flawlessly in my version of Logic Audio 6. The pre-sets alone give only a glimpse of what can be done with Crystal, it's really amazing. All this, and it's free to boot! Very very sweet, thank you so very much!! This is Excellent!!

I can kick my self! I've been paying HUNDREDS on soft synths, and here comes one that sounds just as good.......FOR FREE! It's got all the strange
esoteric programing and killer sound to boot. remember this is a AU or VST
plug-in so it might be a little processor hungery...aren't they all?
