Product Description:

The Laszlo Presentation Server Platform consists of the Laszlo Presentation Server, Laszlo's XML-based development methodology and a zero-install executable that takes advantage of the Macromedia Flash player as the runtime rendering environment.

What's new in this version:

KRANK Optimizer - KRANK is an "instant-on" technology for rich Internet applications that allows developers to optimize an application so that it will start immediately once downloaded.

Verity Fonts - Applications can include the Verity Font family, including Bold, Bold Italic, Roman and Italic. These are specifically designed for Laszlo applications so that fonts as small as nine point are legible.

Full Keyboard Navigation with Dynamic Focus - Interfaces can be designed to take advantage of Laszlo’s smart keyboard control that provides dynamic feedback through a unique visual indicator. This allows users to easily maintain reference and permits full keyboard navigation through all on screen components.

Custom Components - Developers can create custom components with the Laszlo API to implement advanced Web applications featuring state-of-the-art interactivity, fluidity and performance.

Laszlo Interface Components - These offer a state-of-the-art, flexible desktop-quality user interface framework that can be modified and extended visually and programmatically.

Expanded Dynamic Documentation - Combines online tutorials with interactive example code to help developers to learn and experiment with code on a single Web page.

Flexible Data Binding - Extends the data binding facility so that new components are usable with or without the need for data binding

New Developer Console - Speeds development by providing a Web-based interface to compile, debug, and KRANK an application.

Administrator Console - Offers improved run-time server monitoring to view traffic, server load, cache, and other relevant diagnostics.

This is one amazing program!

I agree that Unicode support would be nice, but this app does so many other things so incredibly well, that anything less than 5 stars is an insult.

Laszlo Presentation Server Reviewpromissing - Version: 2.0, 3/12/2004 04:21AM PST

very promissing, indeed. however, an xml-native platform that does NOT support unicode in its version 2.0 is embarrassing. the fact that unicode support is planned for some unspecified point in the future makes this product currently useless for a significant number of people. wake up, laszlo -- this is very important. english is not the only language in the world.
