Product Description:

FileNamer renames thousands of files in seconds, with a rich set of features to make the work easy. Here are some ... Get all of the old file name. All but extension. Part of file name from left (start pos. to length). Part of file name from right. (start pos. to length). Only extension. Add extension. Date, a lot of formats... Index number, counter from start pos. in x number of digits. Text, insert text of your choice. Time, a lot of formats. Case, change case in four different ways. Only numerics, get rid of all letters. Only non-numerics, get rid of all numbers. Replace non-Ascii, choose what to replace individual characters with. Search & Replace, Mac creator and type. And there's more even features, among them filtering, Hot folders. This beta is time limited and will not launch after May 1, 2004.

What's new in this version:

  • Faster renaming (70-80%). Error handling now option instead. On error the app just silently fail, leaving the file name as it is, but renaming those that can be changed.
  • Option to choose between Metal Brush and Mac OS X standard look (Note: all options will move to preferences in the Apple menu in a later build. For now you can change this in the Edit menu/Look.
  • Values from "Live Update" and "Do error handling" are now stored in a temporary prefs file in the FileNamer folder and restored when opening a new window.
  • When using replace non-Ascii it's now possible to add a replacement character for non-specified non-Ascii characters with A=X. Example: ?=a;?=o;A=_
  • Fixed dialog with wrong language.
  • Now Quit, Preferences and About menu items are displayed in the right language.
  • Save menu item. Would be greyed out even though changes were made.
