Easy to use but I have found two problems with it;
1. After ripping about 2/3rds of the way through there is a slip screen. The top half continues it the movie, while the bottom half is a still of a previous frame from the movie.
2. After converting and burning to a dvd my player display's a message "HD format not supported" so I can't watch it.

MacTheRipper is one of the best Mac programs I've ever used. It's intuitive, reliable and fast. It's worth any amount of a donation, and is far better than any commercial product I've tried. Combine all this, with prompt, courteous support and you got one of the best utilities available for the Mac.
If I could, I'd give it 10 stars!

This is an incredible application and I can not thank the developer enough. If there was a way to donate for appreciation and continued development I would and I am sure I speak for many. This application work perfect, along with Roxio Popcorn and it ROCKS!

This software is THE BOMB!!! I can't believe it's freeware. It's a great way to back up your DVD's, copy protected or not. I travel and do not like taking my original, expensive DVD titles with me. Not to worry anymore- I can copythe DVD and take a non-region coded copy with me,.if it gets damaged then I still have the original. Beautiful!

Man I can not say enough about this software. i had some issues with the program, emailed them @ their website and within (1) hour I had a response. Not only did they help me fix the problem they also gave me smple directions on how to flash my Pioneer DVR. Please join me in making a small contribution to the cause. We need more people like G & WW. Thanks guys! Best software I use!

...the "Don't Remember Save Location" has never worked for me. Even though the feature is ticked it still remembers the save location. A fix would be nice!

BAD SECTORS ERROR - A POSSIBLE FIX - Version: 2.6.5, 3/7/2005 11:19PM PST

I posted feedback a few days ago about this issue & MTR and have since stumbled across a simple fix that could be easily overlooked by new Mac owners. If you have a new DVD player connected to your Mac or have a brand new Mac that you haven't played a DVD on, and you try to copy a DVD using MTR, and get a "Bad Sectors" error message from MTR... It may be that your Drives Region setting is not set. Try playing a movie using your Apple DVD player first before trying to copy your DVD with MTR. This fixed the problem I was having. I had a new PowerBook and had not set the drives Region setting. All the DVD's I tried to copy gave me a Bad Sectors error using MTR. Now that the Drive is set to the proper Region, MTR works perfect , just as all the previous versions of MTR have, and all the movies I've copied since I set the Region are PERFECT. Again, Thank you MTR, GeezerButtz and Wise_Weasel. Please Keep up the great work. You're the BEST :-

If I try to convert into .vob via "D", "Streams" and choose a german audio, i will never get the german one, always english. A bug?

Just bought a mac g5. Tried using TheRipper, but I get no sound. Am using 42DVD-VXPlus to convert to avi. Anyone know the secret?
