Product Description:

What Is SwitchTop?
SwitchTop is an application that allows you to have multiple desktops. Is your desktop cluttered with many files and documents? Do you wish you had more desktop space? SwitchTop is your answer. Easily create and manage your desktops and switch between them quickly. SwitchTop is simple to use, all of its features are accessible through it's application dock menu.

How SwitchTop Works
When you create a new desktop with SwitchTop, it moves all the files currently on the desktop into a new folder located in "~/Documents/SwitchTop Desktops" (The Documents folder of your Home folder). When you switch desktops, SwitchTop moves the documents in these folders back to the desktop. All your files are saved inside the "SwitchTop Desktops" folder and can be accessed at any time if you want.

SwitchTop isn't worth the money -- it's an easy concept to implement on your own. I put together an alternative script that does the same (slightly less user-friendly, since it's a script, not an application):

<p>
Plus, this implementation keeps the physical arrangement of the items.

Does what it says but after switching the icons are not in the same place you left them... This isn't horrible but if you arrange groups of items while you are working on them it could be very annoying if you had many icons for a project all placed neatly on the desktop then when you switch back they are all on the right side of the screen in alpha order... so while this is a nice idea until they work out keeping your icons in the place you left them it's not worth $10.00
