ConvertIt CommentaryDont register this - Version: 3.1.5, 9/8/2008 09:47AM PST

Before you lay down any money for this software, Kagi will still take your money, drop a line to the author to see if they are still in business. I believe that this product is no longer supported if my experience is anything to go by.

My advice is to look elsewhere.

ConvertIt ReviewDoesn't print output in scientific notation - Version: 3.1.5, 8/8/2008 11:57AM PST

jerryross2
The program would be perfect IF it would use scientific notation. You can input scientific notation, but you cannot make it output a result in scientific notation. :( You end up counting 18 zeros to figure out what your decimal place is!

Oh, and the developer does not respond to emails!

When I run v3.1.3 on Tiger the table of choices is blank. This version is not compatible with Tiger ... for that use v 3.1.2

ConvertIt CommentaryNo Response from Author - Version: 2.6.3, 5/13/2007 02:54PM PST

I have tried two emails to the author with a question about upgrades but have not had a response despite having registered the product. Is he still in business? Does he respond.

ConvertIt CommentaryNice but I need to locate units easier - Version: 2.5, 4/8/2005 03:24PM PST

I like all the things about this app including the vast choices and the ability to add your own. However the interface sometimes slows me down as I forget where a particular unit is located and have to search the index. It reminds me of searching through folders for a particular file. I would suggest some way to tag favorites so they can be easily located or even better, a quickfind text box for all the units. For instance if I wanted "cu yards", I could just type in "yard"
and it would select matching criteria.

Actually, there is upgrade pricing for all of the previous users of ConvertIt. There is plenty of information about what's new in the pro version on the ConvertIt website. Please check there for the latest news.

I already own ver 2.0 and it works fine for my needs. I found neither an upgrade price for current users or worse... any indication of what's new in 2.1 "Pro" and only TWO minutes to figure it out! I don't think so. This kid may be a decent programmer but he ain't got a clue about marketing. Until I know what I'm gettin' I'd rather spend my 17 bucks on a pizza and a twelve pack.

The application is a product of dedicated and conscientious effort. ConvertIt exceeds all my expectations and the service offered by the developer is excellent. It is a fact of life that our creations are seldom recognized and appreciated even less. With that said, thanks Brandon!

USERS: GET A LIFE! There is no free ride. Developer: The boo birds out there probably do not have the insight to even appreciate what you have contributed to this community. I commend you for the hours of programming you have put into this program. just keep in mind that you have learned from this experience, and will go on to bigger and better projects because of it. I understand it may be hard but do not take the negative comments too personally. Look at them for what they are, feedback. If someone really finds the program useful, then they will pay for it. As for the free riders, let them go somewhere else. Concentrate on the feedback of the paying customers and continue to deliver the superior customer service that is noted in this forum. It would not surprise me to find that many of the negative comments probably come from competition or those who haven't a clue. Rise above the negativitism, be politically astute, and do not give the birds more fodder to feed on -- give them the road.

either allow the user to bookmark their favorite measures or allow the user to customize their own array of measures (possibly by dragging the ones we most often use). I use the "all" in lengths (not the metric). But there are so many it takes time to naviage to the few I regularly use (cubit-all, foot-all, furlong, and stadium). save time = useful feature
