Many people may never have played let alone seen this great old analog synth. I was lucky enough to be able to mess with one for a while when deciding on purchasing my first synth back in 1979. I settled on a Sequential Circuits Pro-One, which I still have, and it is now considered a vintage synth.

Arturia has done a great job of recreating that fat 3 oscillator sound running through those one of a kind patented Moog filters. This soft synth can kick out some deep throbing basslines as good as the real thing. Plus Arturia has added things that the Minimoog could never do like polyphonic(more than one note) capability and integrated effects. This plug-in/Stand Alone app fits in well with Arturias other Vintage recreations like the ARP2600, Moog Modular and Yamaha CS80. The people at Arturia are very friendly and very helpful.

I have talked with Arturia and they want to do a recreation of the Oberheim OB series synths but the current owner of Oberheim has not interest. For those that want that famous OB-8 OB-Xa sound contact Gibson at Gibson.com and let them know you want one. The only way to get that sound now is with a 700 dollar Alesis Ion hardware synth.

Reason has nothing to do with minimoog V... They're absolutely not the same kind of programs. Minimoog V tries to emulate a MiniMoog analog synthetizer, and although i've never used a real minimoog, i would say it does a pretty good job! Maybe you don't like this synthetizer, and you are right about it being, still, buggy (just like its brother Moog Modular V), but saying that Reason is better is not wrong, it's just not what this program is about. Oh, an I love Reason ;)
