Mah Jong Solitaire 2 ReviewDisappointed - Version: V2.21, 8/12/2007 10:45AM PST

Mahjong should only have 4 each of a given tile set. Some if not most of the layouts have many. So I looked in the help file and it says:

It consists of 144 tiles, and when played in hard mode is "balanced".That is, it has exactly four of each tile in each layout. Mahjong Solitaire contains many different layouts, some balanced, some unbalanced. The layout browser accessible through the Layout Menu is the best way to choose a layout.

This is only half true. When you select the difficulty level that is supposed to give you the balanced set, it doesnt. Also, only a sad few give you four of each tile, if it works.

I absolutely hate this. I tried to contact the developer and there is NO CONTACT INFO. This is my mistake in that I payed for this before I fully investigated. I NEVER buy from someone who does not at least provide contact info so based on that alone I rate this low.

If I could get my money back I would.

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 Troubleshooting Reportcan't contact developer for troubleshooting - Version: V2.19, 6/4/2007 02:05PM PST

On the developer's site there is no provision for feedback, no email address, no contact. I've been having sudden quits of the app when iTunes is present, and it doesn't happen if iTunes (latest version) is not running. This happens whether or not I've selected iTunes in the prefs for sound.

I've saved the crash log but don't know where to send it, since there isn't any address available on the developer's webpage. Would appreciate some support here.

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 Troubleshooting ReportMHJ 2 doesn't work anymore! - Version: V2.17, 3/24/2006 01:11PM PST

I've registered this game, and I'm using it with the last Tiger: MHJ doesn't work anymore. It's impossible to match tiles, after two or three tile matching there are no tiles to match, and the game cannot continue. I'm emailed to developer, and I'm looking for his answer. Anyone has the same problem?

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 Troubleshooting ReportContinuous screen redrawing - Version: V2.17, 12/18/2005 11:47PM PST

hschulsinger
Mah Jong Solitaire 2 v.1.1.7 (also v.1.1.6, it seems) appears to have an issue with OS X 10.4.3 in that it continuously redraws the screen and doesn't begin the game. It uses so much CPU time that it is difficult to quit out of the game. Too bad, the game has a nice layout; however, if you can't play the game, what good is it? I'm going back to playing the original Mah Jong Solitaire game, which still works fine under 10.4.3. If I'm doing some wrong that's making the game act that way, would someone please clue me in.

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 ReviewGreat version - Version: V2.16, 12/18/2005 09:57AM PST

Great version of this game--I had a commercial version of the same type of game (called Shanghai Dynasty) but that only worked through OS 9, and I don't see running Classic for a game. I was so thrilled to find this--the graphics are not quite as good, but other than that, I'm very happy with the playability of Mah Jong Solitaire 2!

This is the best version of Mah Jong I've played on any platform. Excellent, well-thought-out user interface, and great features. So I got to thow out mad props to the developer--your game is awesome.

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 ReviewExcellent MahJong, but no upgrade price for v1 owners - Version: V2.00c, 5/30/2005 12:52AM PST

I bought a late version 1 for $10 (no, not $8.50) and was pleasantly surprised that my code continued to work with v2, at least up until v2.05. No warning from the author about expiring code after v2.00, so had to reload older version to avoid shareware messages. No upgrade path available to version 1.x users, except to buy again.

Mah Jong Solitaire 2 CommentaryOld versions available? - Version: V2.05b, 5/21/2005 02:35AM PST

Philipz
I bought this one for my dad when it was still pre version 2. I didn't update because it didn't feel it was necessary, and updates were free anyway so I could do it whenever I wanted. Apparently a new 'feature' is that pre-V2 users can't upgrade anymore :( :( :(
Is there a place where we can download old versions that still work with a pre-v2 code?

Thx,

Philip
