Sounds like a vision? Yes, sure, but it is a vision that we want to become real.
Under the hood of myPDA, we use Linux as the kernel, X11R6 as the graphics engine and mySTEP as the graphics libraries aiming at highest levels of ease of use and data compatibility.

What's new in this version:

DR2 is the second Developer Release of a complete Personal Digital Companion software distribution using an off-the-shelf Sharp Zaurus SL5500G (others should work - please submit reports). It is intended to attract Cocoa software developers for evaluation to extend their applications to this additional platform.

This release improves functionality (more applications are included), stability and compatibility. Look has been moved a little towards MacOS X - and Feel even a little more.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3

  • Sharp Zaurus with Sharp ROM 3.10

The Zaurus is the most amazing thing since sliced bread -- a tiny, effective and fun little thing that can do most of what a real computer can do (even terminal). I will give this a good run for its money and see how it works.

When I read the short description ("convert Sharp Zaurus to a PDC") my thought was, "Why the heck would you want to use a Zaurus as a primary domain controller? And HOW?" I guess we've run out of unique acronyms in the realm of technology....
