since installing yesterday, on my Mac Pro Activity Monitor is showing that QS is running between 100 - 200 % ... can it be it takes so long and needs so much power for indexing my mac or what is wrong?

Yeah...about the Quicksilver site being down. It's only down because a previous version of Quicksilver would ping the crap out of their server so the homepage is down. You can download the new version which fixes the pinging problem.
