since installing yesterday, on my Mac Pro Activity Monitor is showing that QS is running between 100 - 200 % ... can it be it takes so long and needs so much power for indexing my mac or what is wrong?

From Quicksilver developer Nicholas Jitkoff:

"I'm inclined to encourage users to move over to the more stable and well supported alternatives like LaunchBar."

Quicksilver Troubleshooting ReportQuicksilver site being down - Version: 1.0b53, 11/5/2007 10:24PM PST

Yeah...about the Quicksilver site being down. It's only down because a previous version of Quicksilver would ping the crap out of their server so the homepage is down. You can download the new version which fixes the pinging problem.

Quicksilver CommentaryBlacktree.com down -> try Spotlight in Leopard - Version: 1.0b52, 10/30/2007 05:34PM PST

I've been trying to get to Blacktree.com to download QS for my other computers, and have been having issues for days. Perhaps the developer has gone back underground ... who knows.

Anyway, since installing Leopard on all of my Macs, I've been using Spotlight to launch applications, just like I usually do with QS. Pressing Command+Space brings it up, and typing the first few characters of the name of the application that I'm wanting quickly locates it. Pressing Enter then launches it. Granted it's not quite as useful as QS, but it does a nice job.

The Blacktree site appears to be down - and has been for days. Which means no new installs of Quicksilver since on first run it attempts to connect to the Blacktree site to download plug-ins.

Where is Alc0r?

Quicksilver Troubleshooting ReportApple+W problem - Version: 1.0b52, 10/29/2007 11:37AM PST

(1 of 2 users found this comment useful)

Quicksilver works fine on leopard with the update ;)

Only 2 problems i still experience:
the QS-prefpane "triggers" doesn't load.
"Apple+W" brings up some QS-input field instead of closing the window,
any hint on this?

Quicksilver Troubleshooting ReportStill some problems with Leopard - Version: 1.0b52, 10/27/2007 12:39PM PST

AUsher
QuickSilver b52 intermittently uses 100% of the CPU on my macbook pro, is sometimes slow to activate, and hangs when I try to access the triggers section of its preferences.

Does anyone else experience these problems?

Quicksilver ReviewNow Plays great with Leopard! - Version: 1.0b52, 10/25/2007 10:40PM PST

Wow, I'm really amazed to see an update for QS, as I didn't think it was being worked on or developed any more. I just posted about it not working with Leopard a few days ago, and to my surprise there's a new version for Leopard, and it works great!

Thanks for the prompt support!

Quicksilver CommentaryDoesn't play nice with Leopard - Version: 1.0b51, 10/20/2007 08:19AM PST

I love QS, and have been using it for quite a while. Unfortunately, I've recently learned that it doesn't play well with Leopard. During the initial installation, when you're prompted for which plugins you want to load, after selecting them and after selecting them, they don't install. QS plugin installer hangs right there, not doing anything. The program continues to run in the background, as you can click Continue, and it does, but you can't use any of the plugins. I also tried going into the plugin section of the program and trying to install them there, and encountered the same exact issue.

Hopefully this will be fixed, but I doubt it, as the program hasn't been updated in over a year. Ugh ... time to find a new Launcher.
