I run an audio production studio and use a lot of Macs, this utility has saved me countless hours of manually switching back and forth. Version 1.1 is just as the previous versions, IT JUST WORKS!!
I'd need to switch but it's impossible - Version: .01a, 2/19/2004 06:50PM PST

I have an iMac G4 and would LOVE to switch between headphones out (bigger stereo system) and pro speakers via ANY software. But there seems no other way then (un)plugging all the time. Maybe any ideas?
The same would be great to turn off and on a second Monitor, so that the whole workspace is just Screen 0 and then again spread over two screens. But that seems also only possible with (un)plugging.
That's really annoying and really one of the few things that are better in windows...
Thanks for ideas,
Stefan

this does save time of having to manually do the same steps, but if you've used Rogue Amoeba's Sound Source (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/freebies/) free menubar app that lets you instantly switch sound sources, as well as see which one is currently selected (helpful if you have it muted and want to know what which is going to come on if you unmute) then this app doesn't look so good anymore.
not to knock this developer's efforts - especially since it's freeware which is ALWAYS appreciated - but maybe a future version could incorporate some of the abilities of Sound Source, like not having to see the System Preferences window open and change the settings.
Nevertheless, if i hadn't seen Sound Source this app would make me a very happy multi-sound out user :)
