What's new in this version:

Improvements

Auto-Frame Finding: On the "Auto" tab of the "Options" dialogue a new feature can be found to adjust the inset that is applied to frames created by the "Find Frames" tool.

Bug fixes:

General: Dragging a file into SilverFast's preview window could crash the application - fixed.
JobManager: In the JobManager's copy dialogue, it is now possible to copy i/SRD settings, too.
General: Minor adjustment in calculating and visualisation of the lightest and darkest pixels when frames are rotated.
SCC: In rare cases, SCC could crash the scanning process - fixed.

I am impressed by what SilferFast does to my scanner. Way better than Epson SW - alone the Multi-Sampling functions turns my Epson into a real HighEnd scanner.

Out of the box the Epson Scan works much better - Version: 6.4.1r4, 6/15/2005 10:50AM PST

Using the default settings on both of these plug-ins the Epson scans were almost perfect and Silverfast were unacceptible. I imagine a more skilled person could get better results but if you are doing mostly reflective art I would save the money and use what came in the box.

The release notes actually refer to 6.4.1r3 - Version: 6.4.1r4, 3/23/2005 02:28AM PST
