USBVision ReviewRock Solid Performance / Helpful Developer - Version: 1.3.2, 3/7/2009 08:55AM PST

Rock Solid Performance / Helpful Developer

I have been using USBVision for my USB security camera set up for several years now. I have the software running 24/7 and it has never failed during these years of service...not once. USBVision is extremely easy to set up and use and is a program you can install it and then forget about it as it does its job reliably.

The developer is quick to address questions. When I first started using USBVision, I was using some black and white cameras and wanted a grayscale option. The developer quickly provided me with a custom program. Later, when I upgraded to a color camera, I just had to switch back to the current version. Recently, I needed help with another camera set up I wished to try out and once again, the developer was very helpful. As a result of his continued help, I plan to give his other product, VideoGlide a try.

Wow, what excellent technical support I received for USBVision. I was suddenly having trouble running the software after successfully using it for years on a satellite project. After probably 20 emails back and forth, EchoFX support deduced that another software package was interfering (USB Proscope). I relocated a few tools as instructed and BAM everything was fixed. I can't believe the tenacity of this software team... wish all my packages were so well supported.

USBVision Usage TipSupports G5 iMac iSight - Version: 1.1.3, 10/27/2005 03:59PM PST

I have USB Vision for my XLR8 Interview device, but discovered it also activates the built-in iSight camera on new G5 iMacs. This way the camera's video can be captured and saved to the hard drive. It also gives you the ability to adjust the video and audio quality, and to record in various resolutions using a wide range of codecs. This is a great application!
One tip: be sure to choose a save location with Snapshot setup and Record setup before using Snapshot or Record, or the application will crash.

USBVision ReviewMesses with iSight - Version: 1.1, 6/3/2004 11:39AM PST

Well, I'm a happy user of USBvision, but I recently bought an iSight and it didn't work. I found out that problem was the USBvision components in the Quictime folder in Library. Removing one plugin at a time showed that USBvision was the problem. Hope this will be updated soon, since I have to remove the plugins to use USBvision. I'm using Quicktime 6.5.1 and OS 10.3.4

USBVision ReviewAmazing Product, Amazing tech support - Version: 1.1, 5/29/2004 09:28PM PST

mr_step
I've been using this product since it was first released, I was the unfortunate owner of a Belkin VideoBusII - after being promised that OS X support was coming - only to discover this was not the case.

These guys made my product work perfectly (even better than the original OS 9 software from Belkin).

But what about tech support: for a $25 program(more for me - I'm Australian), the tech support has been amazing - I had major issues upgrading (the issues were at my end - not with their software) - and the tech support guys helped me through ever possible problem till we got the thing solved. Thank you EchoFX.
