Anubis Freecell Developer Notehow to deselect a card - Version: 1.0, 7/8/2004 07:14PM PST

guys,

not sure why you seem to have a problem with not moving a card.
A click on a card will select it ( it will be shaded ) and if you
do NOT want to move the card, then deselect it, ( by clicking where there is no card ).

Works just like the finder, with something selected, click in blank space to deselect.

Anubis Freecell CommentaryFree cell with good graphics - Version: 1.0, 2/10/2004 07:17PM PST

No matter what else anyone else says about this program

it is the only MAC FREECELL game with decent graphics that does not make my eyes go crazy and which allows one to scan the table and find the card you are looking for-- and I have tried them all
The original Windoze version has great graphics why has it taken this long for a MAC version to catch up

Re previous reviewers claim about not being able to move more than one card at a time-- False-- you certainly can do this

The only abnormal card play feature that I found is that once a card is touched - you are forced to move it even if you do not want to- the only out is to move it up to the whatever its called holding area

this is a fatal error in my opinion-- even apple Z does not undo the selection the standard approach is to make a card selection a toggle

I ran into the same bug as the previous reviewer in getting into an endless loop being unable to make any play even when one is available - getting a series of error messages --
there should be a feature to turn off the error messages a simple beep would do fine

The fantastic graphics compel me to not give this program any rating pending correction of the bugs noted above
it is certainly worth more than 1 star

What can I say? The interface is completely non-standard; you have to move cards one at a time, unlike most Freecell games; and there are constant error messages if you guess the rules wrong. Once it wouldn't let me out of the error message cycle; anyplace I clicked on the whole window was wrong. The developer even spelled his/her own program's name wrong ("Anbuis") on the main app window. If this is a home project to learn how to program, then it's a fine early step on the path, but it's not ready for posting and certainly not ready to charge money for.
