Why not use iChat Streaming Icon

I think iChat Streaming Icon is not only cheaper but it also is just an application so you don't risk any instability compared to a hack like LiveIcon...

i don't know if this is a AIM limitation or what, but my friend has AIM 4.7 for Mac OS X and an animated buddy icon and I can't see his icon at all, but he can see mine (and it's animation) when I am using iChat (with or without LiveIcon). Also, I can see the new AOL Superbuddies in iChat from AOL 9 for Windows users, but they are still not animated with LiveIcon (cannot see the animation in AIM either, so not LiveIcon's fault... just a limitation, i guess). further: i would pay $5 for this, but I would never pay $10... that's the difference between a cute haxie and a piece of productive software. it would also be nice if it were a system-wide haxie... animate icons in login window, address book, etc.
pretty neato

Hi. MyIcon, which lets you use an animated icon for your buddy icon, is not included in the LiveIcon demo. It is only available to registered users of LiveIcon.
Decent effort

Decent effort: Hey, it works, basically. It's a little choppy and seems to be a bit of a CPU hog, though. It would be nice if buddy icons were animated in a user's info dialog as well. The price is a bit steep for basically beta-quality software. I would've made this free and considered a beta, maybe $5 later. Overally, a decent effort, but not something I'd use.
