Solitaire Forever Troubleshooting ReportFull Screen Mode Does Not Work - Version: 1.3.1, 7/17/2008 04:43AM PST

I upgraded to 1.3.1 and now find that it takes about 4 seconds to load whereas before it was instantaneous. Second, if I go into Full Screen Mode, the entire program locks up and I can't get out unless I hit Command-F again. Does anybody else have this problem?

I'm using OS X 10.5.4.

This is a very beautiful and stable rendition of Solitaire. Well worth the registration fee for hours of vegging-out Solitaire play!

Awesome graphics! It's hard to imagine how anyone could do better. You'll think you have a real live deck there under your nose!

I love it. The graphics are great, the selection of games is huge, and the options are complete. This is the best.

And the developer is responsive to feedback. A+

Solitaire Forever ReviewBeautiful and lots of fun! - Version: 1.1.2, 11/30/2005 05:03PM PST

This is far and a way the most beautiful solitaire game I've ever seen that doesn't involve real cards. The gameplay, too, is excellent. I agree the UI isn't very Mac-like -- I'd like to see the game controls duplicated into the menu bar -- but it's still fairly intuitive and easy to use.

I love this game!

Wow! I gotta say this is, by and far, the most impressive solitaire game I've seen on a computer! This is a sheer delight to play over the other typical, boring solitaire games. Whereas other games tend to sport bland graphics and poor performance, Solitaire Forever has slick, smooth 3D game-play, and does it beautifully without the gimmicks you may expect from bringing solitaire to the third dimension. No it doesn't have a Mac-like user interface; it has one that matches it's 3D look and feel, as it should, as any 3D game does. This is a good design that matches the style of the game itself.

I find it a great way to pass the time, and love the variety of games it comes with. Heck, you even get four games free without registering. Solid two thumbs up!!

Solitaire Forever ReviewStunning graphics but... - Version: 1.1.1, 11/23/2005 12:07AM PST

The graphics on this program as amazing, but the user interface is so un-Mac like that it borders on frustrating to use. The animation and sound is nice, but be warned: even in the background this application will use 40% or more of your CPU time. The fan on my PowerBook kicks in within a minute of launching the program. I have not tried it while running on battery, but I have a feeling this isn't the card game you want to play on a long flight. With all the other card games out there I'm going to pass on this one.

Solitaire Forever ReviewBeautiful gameplay/graphics, but... - Version: 1.1.1, 11/4/2005 09:19AM PST

This game has lots of promise. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is smooth and clean. It includes a nice selection of Solitarie games including my favorite, spider. The GUI is a bit more video-game like than Mac-like which I can live with and perhaps fits the style, but is one area for improvement. My biggest complaint is all the animated "bling" that distracts from the gameplay. The little starbursts flying around are the worst, but the plusating background and cardbacks are also annoying. I'd rate this higher (and recommend the game) if there was an option to turn off all the background animations so I could focus just on the game play.

Solitaire Forever ReviewWonderful game - Version: 1.0.2, 12/12/2004 01:25AM PST

Note that the trial includes unlimited playing with a handful of games (including Klondike, what most people think of when they say Solitaire thanks to Windows), and one-minute snapshots of the various other games.

I'd also like more customizability to the rules, but the UI is very slick, the effects game-enhancing instead of distracting, and the breadth of games (I registered it and am very happy I did!) promises thousands of hours of enjoyment!

Looks and feels great, but the extremely short trial period makes me very suspicious. Will try it again, if I get somewhat more time to do so.
