Product Description:

This tool bypasses the previous requirement to install GarageBand on the boot drive. It is now possible to install on any drive, whether its a second partition, a FireWire drive or an iPod. This is useful for those running out of space on their boot disk, those who need the portablility of an external drive, and especialy those who want the speed of an external drive.

This includes a README with exact and easy to follow instructions, Allong with the necasary script and specialy aliased .pkg files so that the GarageBand installation can be done seemlessly.

I ran out of room and needed to install GarageBand on a firewire drive and figured others might have a similar need.

What's new in this version:

  • Easy Installation
  • No Use of Terminal
  • Improved Documentation

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2

Additional Requirements:

I've been meaning to figure out how to install the bare minimum to the internal drive and the expansion packs to an external drive. This way, my powerbook will actually launch GB when I don't have my big drive available.

at last someone who has done a great job. I started to use Dhos_Garageband since its first release and had several problems with the Terminal commando's. I just wrote the developper of this program and he assisted me step by step to make it work. Now he has developped version two wich work great for me and my son in law. Its worth to pay for this program but the developper just want to help other Mac Users with Garageband. Thanks a trillion times again and i hope that you will developpe more of this super utillities in the future. Apple can use people like you.

If you do have the space and you've already installed GarageBand but want the biggest files of Garageband on a faster Hard Drive... In this case, does it make more sense to just move those files to the faster drive and use symbolic links instead of using this thing?
