iTools rocks - Version: 7.3, 5/25/2004 03:42AM PST

hmagI can only conclude that people who have had bad experiences have not followed instructions or sought the right advice. iTools is professional quality serving software for professional admins - there are heaps of tools available which do similar things, but with nowhere near as much ease or as painless. For us, iTools has saved us loads of heartache & headaches.

Maestro2015I then shut down, and took my Titanium Powerbook home, only to later discover that it would not boot-up.
ITools killed my laptop!
While trying to boot, the progress bar passed through all the usual stuff, but at the end, when it got to launching Login Services, it got stuck there and never would get through that final step.
After trying for the better part of the evening to repair the problem - by deleting the login prefs, running tech tool pro, and numerous restarts (including a "Safe" boot) I was forced to:
1. Backup the entire hard drive to a second drive using Safe Disk mode.
2. Wipe the TiBook's hard drive from my desktop Mac.
3. Re-install the backed up drive contents.
4. Do an "Archive" install of OSX 10.3.
5. Download all the updates.
6. Move my "Previous System"'s main & user Library folders in, over the new clean system.
7. Run disk utility to fix ownerships.
8. And enter a ton of registration codes.
9. Not to mention all the testing I had to do after all this was done.
A real pain in the patutie!
No one got back to me regarding my question on how to regain all the control which is lost after iTools disables the System Prefs:Sharing control panel either.
Excuse me for stating the obvious, but this is bad news, yes?
How can anyone trust their software on their precious servers?
BEWARE!

ITools is well respected, and pretty much takes the pain out of installing Apache, PHP and MySQL. Sure, if you're already running these items, and you have years of accumulated versions laying around your hard drive, installing a new version on top of the old grabage is likely to cause problems. Whose fault is that?
The product and the customer service is first rate. (And, if you can configure Apache in your sleep, why on earth would you even be interested in this product? Why do I get the feeling that some of the reviewers below have some other axe to grind?)
Like hundreds, or even thousands of others, I found iTools to be worth every penny.
