Product Description:

Keyword Assistant is an iPhoto plugin that makes keyword management quicker and easier.

It adds a panel with an auto-completing text field for entering keywords. This makes it realistic to keep and assign large numbers of keywords, for example one for every person in a photograph. That's a good thing because it makes searching for a photograph pretty easy. Other niceties include the ability to alphabetize the Keywords list.

Keyword Assistant is currently localized for English, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Swedish.

What's new in this version:

  • Compatible with iPhoto 6.0.4
  • Compatible with Intel-based Macs

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.4 PPC

Additional Requirements:

  • iPhoto 4 - 6.0.4
  • Mac OS X 10.4.7
  • This version of Keyword Assistant will (probably) work in future versions of iPhoto, but it will run in a compatibility mode with a reduced feature set. This is for safety. See the readme for more detail.

Keyword Assistant CommentaryProblems with Media browser? - Version: 1.9.4, 4/11/2007 11:18AM PST

I love Keyword Assistant as it is truly a missing piece of iPhoto. However, I noticed a while back that ComicLife can't see my photos after I've used KA. I had to wipe out a plist file or something like that to get it work but then I lost all my keyword asignments.

I just upgraded to 1.9.4, added some photos, assigned some keywords and then attempted to use iWeb to create a web page with photos and the media browser in there can fine my audio files and my movies but it can't find my photos.

I haven't figured out how to resolve this but it is something one should consider before using KA. I can't say for certain that this is due to KA and I still highly recommend KA. If anyone can figure out how to resolve this, please post it here.

Thanks to the author for updating this so promptly after iPhoto's latest update -- I was extremely frustrated without being able to use Keyword Assistant -- it is Absolutely Necessary when dealing with multiple thousands of images! Thanks, again

iPhoto keyword functionality is essentially broken without this. This is the most useful iPhoto plugin I have ever encountered, and now it is finally Universal.
