iPhoto using Rosetta - Version: 1.9.1, 8/22/2006 04:32AM PST

There is a way to launch iPhoto using Rosetta and use the Keyword Assistant plugin. I currently do it on a regular basis. I'm pretty sure it was posted here too a while back.
Make a copy of iPhoto, right-click the new copy and show its contents. Open up the info.plist file in Text Edit and delete the line stating:
<key>LSRequiresNativeExecution</key>
<true/>
After saving (this part might not be necessary, but the article I read said to do it) use Disk Utility to repair disk permissions. Then restart the computer. If after restarting, it still doesn't give you the option to open in Rosetta (which it didn't for me), moving it to another location and then moving it back to the Applications folder works. Not sure why. Anyway, I was able to manually install the plugin and fix the version thing and now I can use it in iPhoto under Rosetta.
does not run under Rosetta - Version: 1.9.1, 8/16/2006 01:51PM PST
Mengoxon Plus
I'm currently using iPhoto Keyword Tool on my Intel Mac but compared to Keyword Assistant, it has several disadvantages:
1. It is case sensitive: If I type "a", it won't bring up Andy as keyword
2. It does not learn your preferred order: It always goes by alphabet. So if I type "A", it always brings up Aardvark as keyword, even if I look for keyword Andy all the time.
BTW this software is the most essential iPhoto plugin and made me start using keywords, but if it does not work... :-(
Poor Update Record-Very Disappointing

editcandyQuit iPhoto -- Find your iPhoto application -- Control-click and choose Show Package Contents -- Drill through the following directories: Contents:NetServices:Bundles:KeywordAssistant.NetService:Contents:MacOS
Open KeywordAssistant in your favorite text editor (I like Smultron). Search for the phrase: "WarnForiPhotoVersionsAbove" and change the version number that immediately follows to something that corresponds to your current version of iPhoto -- Good luck.

I just upgraded to 1.9.4, added some photos, assigned some keywords and then attempted to use iWeb to create a web page with photos and the media browser in there can fine my audio files and my movies but it can't find my photos.
I haven't figured out how to resolve this but it is something one should consider before using KA. I can't say for certain that this is due to KA and I still highly recommend KA. If anyone can figure out how to resolve this, please post it here.
