This software is amazing!!!!!!!!
I'm having one issue. My new MacBook Pro (Intel) sees my G5 (PPC) and the cursor moves from my MacBook Pro to my G5 beautifully. However, it can't go back to my MacBook Pro. I've activated the sharing and the my MacBook sees my G5, but my G5 doesn't see my MacBook Pro to activate it in the Teleport Window.
I installed the newer (INTEL) version on my MacBook Pro and the older (PPC) version to work on my G5. Would this be the reason that my G5 would not recognize the new INTEL version or my MacBook Pro?
Please help as this would be a tremendous asset. I'll mak a donation once this is rectified.

This is one amazing piece of software. Just installed it on my Mac mini and my MacBook Pro, and it worked instantly. I can now forget about VNC or manually plugging/unplugging my keyboard and mouse, just control two machine from one set of peripherals. Very cool.
This guy is gonna get a donation from me... and if he finds the time to introduce a Windows version (for my BootCamp gaming), he'll get one again! :-)

I search for such a software since a long time and here it is !
- For PPC, you just must go to the developer web site where you can find a version
- Add the pref.panel only for the current user
... and it simply works ! Even French keyboard works whereas it was transformed into Qwerty one with Apple screen shared...
I hope the developer has a way to get donation easely... he will receive mine !

I Quit System Prefs
Uninstalled 1.0.1 and prefs plist file
Double clicked 1.0.2 prefpane
Installed for all users
Clicked on teleport in system preferences
Dialog box pops up which says
Preferences Error, Could not load teleport
Happens on both of my 10.4.11 PPC systems.

I just gained alot of screen real estate and deskspace and processor cycles NOT having to run a VNC app anymore. I'd give 6 stars if possible.
I just made a donation so I can rightfully make some suggestions for improvement:
-Progress indicator is needed for drag and drop activity. Sometimes with larger files Teleport seems to be frozen (indeed it is while the files are being prepared) and I don't know if anything is progressing. It's never actually failed, but does take a while.
-Allow detached layout so that only a keyboard shortcut can switch screens. This prevents accidental switching. Actually the hold key is just as good, but it's sometimes nice for those who don't like to reach for the mouse all the time.

At home, I usually have my MacBook sitting to the left of my iMac. Now I can happily manage the MacBook without having to deal with the trackpad and lack of numeric keypad. I think I'm going to have to send this developer a donation.

I can't believe I've gone this long without this. I always have at least 2 computers on my desk and since I run Apple Remote Desktop for our network I have relied on it for even my immediate needs. Just mousing over to the next screen is SO DANG ELEGANT, and easy. As a matter of fact I need to tweak a webpage quickly while also doing another task (which will ultimately reside on site). Site sits on the Mac on the corner of my desk. Task has to be done on my immediate machine. Merely mousing back and forth is seamless. Setup is perfectly intuitive. Nice.

As an old user of synergy, I must say teleport is far, far better. Dead easy to configure and the file transfer feature is simply beautiful.
The only advantage of synergy is that it works on Linux and Windows also, but if you don't need that, teleport is absolutely great.

The first time you use this you'll be amazed. And every time after too.
If you're using it on a trusted local network, I suggest you try it first without bothering about encryption.
With encryption enabled it works great if only two machines are involved.
But there seems to be a bug if three (or more?) machines are used with encryption.
