Product Description:

What is it?
teleport is a simple utility to let you use one single mouse and keyboard to control several of your Macs.

Simply reach the edge of your screen, and your mouse teleports to your other Mac! The pasteboard can even be synchronized between the computers.

How do I use it?
Using the convenient Preferences Pane, you configure which hosts you want to control, arrange them graphically like in the Monitors panel, and you're ready! Simply reach an edge of the screen where a slave host is connected, and you take control of the other Mac. The keyboard is acting like if it was connected on the controlled host, and the pasteboard has optionnally been synchronized. On the master computer, a nice notification indicates that it controls another Mac, and shows you the position of your mouse cursor.

To take back control of your main Mac, simply drag the mouse back from where your cursor came, just like when you have several monitors.

What's new in this version:

  • Restored Panther compatibility.
  • Added "€œunpair"€Â? button on paired hosts.
  • Added "€œshared screen" button when having multiple monitors.
  • Fixed Wake-on-LAN.
  • Fixed zoom with scroll-wheel on shared Mac.
  • Fixed mirroring cursor issue.
  • Fixed some keyboard issues when the controlling Mac is in secure text fields.
  • Fixed connectivity issues and random crashes.
  • Improved version upgrades.
  • Added German, Danish and Czech translations.

This has become an absolutely indispensable utility for me! I bring my MacBook home from work, set it up next to the iMac, and start moving files and stuff around on both machines, using only the iMac’s keyboard and mighty mouse. You can even cut and paste. You free up lots of space and don’t need to bother with a KVM switch. And it’s fast.

I’m using 10.5.4 on both machines, and haven’t had any problems. And it works even though I’m using two monitors on the iMac.

Teleport provides the easiest (and most fun) way I have seen for moving files from one computer to the next. I have 2 Macs, side-by-side. As an example, when I download a large file, I can download it just once and then drag-and-drop a copy from one screen to the other. Just amazing. I sometimes have a database or pref file that I want synchronized, and I simply drag that file either to the other computer's desktop or right to the desired folder. Works like a charm.
