Product Description:

What is it?
teleport is a simple utility to let you use one single mouse and keyboard to control several of your Macs.

Simply reach the edge of your screen, and your mouse teleports to your other Mac! The pasteboard can even be synchronized between the computers.

How do I use it?
Using the convenient Preferences Pane, you configure which hosts you want to control, arrange them graphically like in the Monitors panel, and you're ready! Simply reach an edge of the screen where a slave host is connected, and you take control of the other Mac. The keyboard is acting like if it was connected on the controlled host, and the pasteboard has optionnally been synchronized. On the master computer, a nice notification indicates that it controls another Mac, and shows you the position of your mouse cursor.

To take back control of your main Mac, simply drag the mouse back from where your cursor came, just like when you have several monitors.

What's new in this version:

  • Restored Panther compatibility.
  • Added "€œunpair"€Â? button on paired hosts.
  • Added "€œshared screen" button when having multiple monitors.
  • Fixed Wake-on-LAN.
  • Fixed zoom with scroll-wheel on shared Mac.
  • Fixed mirroring cursor issue.
  • Fixed some keyboard issues when the controlling Mac is in secure text fields.
  • Fixed connectivity issues and random crashes.
  • Improved version upgrades.
  • Added German, Danish and Czech translations.

teleport ReviewVery cool! - Version: 1.0.1, 6/3/2009 08:58AM PST

At home, I usually have my MacBook sitting to the left of my iMac. Now I can happily manage the MacBook without having to deal with the trackpad and lack of numeric keypad. I think I'm going to have to send this developer a donation.

teleport ReviewHOLY MACKEREL! - Version: 1.0.1, 6/1/2009 09:58AM PST

I can't believe I've gone this long without this. I always have at least 2 computers on my desk and since I run Apple Remote Desktop for our network I have relied on it for even my immediate needs. Just mousing over to the next screen is SO DANG ELEGANT, and easy. As a matter of fact I need to tweak a webpage quickly while also doing another task (which will ultimately reside on site). Site sits on the Mac on the corner of my desk. Task has to be done on my immediate machine. Merely mousing back and forth is seamless. Setup is perfectly intuitive. Nice.

teleport ReviewExcellent functionality! - Version: 1.0.1, 5/22/2009 05:52AM PST

As an old user of synergy, I must say teleport is far, far better. Dead easy to configure and the file transfer feature is simply beautiful.

The only advantage of synergy is that it works on Linux and Windows also, but if you don't need that, teleport is absolutely great.
