Product Description:

This free iMovie plug-in slightly enlarges the clip, pushing out the edges. It’s use is primarily for people who are converting analog video footage to digital. Sometimes, the edges contain artifacts or bad pixels. This plug-in enables you to eliminate those pixels by simply shoving them off-screen.

Of course, the plug-in is smart enough to preserve the original frames - if you want it to.

What should I use it for?
Use this plug-in whenever your source material has borders that exhibit bad pixels that you would rather not see.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

  • Mac OS X 10.3
  • Mac OS X 10.2
  • Mac OS X 10.1
  • Mac OS X 10.0

Additional Requirements:

  • iMovie 3 or higher

'It wacks out the finished file with "stripes" through the rendered image.'

If this happens, it is iMovie's compression codec that does the 'damage' - there is nothing we can do about it. We have observed this happening most often with high-contrast vertical bars.
First of all: thank you for the feedbak!

'what's "Bi-cubic" BTW, no mention in the manual short of "don't use".....concept seems like a good idea'

'Bicubic' is short for 'bicubic interpolation', a giant step up in image quality from bilinear interpolation (when magnifying a pixel image). The downside is an *immense* performance hit. bicubic interpolation is very, very calculation-intensive.

We'd like to point out, though, that we *did* mention this in the manual - the manual that accompanies the plug-in, that is.

It wacks out the finished file with "stripes" through the rendered image. Not sure if this will show on a tv but it does show on the 'puter....can't recommend...what's "Bi-cubic" BTW, no mention in the manual short of "don't use".....concept seems like a good idea, I am transfering super 8 to DV and need to eliminate extra fluff but not quite confident that this will do it without image degridation...
