Product Description:

Pyramid, a visually-based outlining and thinking tool, allows images and text clippings to be placed anywhere on multiple worksheets that grow dynamically in all four directions. Text elements can then be arranged in elaborate visual hierarchies. Items can also be linked to external documents and web pages.

The software is designed to help people focus on ideas and relationships, as opposed to wasting creative energy on the mechanics of formatting and presentation. Pyramid automatically formats text and worksheets based upon choices made using the Preferences panel. An interactive introductory tutorial is included.

What's new in this version:

Adds "snap to" functionality to alignment guides. Item link information is now included when exporting as an OPML XML outline. The organic line style is now the default.

One of the easiest and most useful Mac apps I've ever seen. Became an addiction and started applying to everything I do within 24 hours of use. Beautiful, too.

I have found this to be the best of all mindmapping programmes. It is elegant, easy to use, and updated regularly. There is also an excellent tutorial. Well worth the money.

I don't think I paid $49 for this (my recollection is $29 way back when Pyramid was 1.0.1 or so), but I've been using Pyramid for some time to organize a very large, very complex report, and once the short learning curve was over (with very fast responses to queries from the developer making this easy), I can't imagine a better way to do it. I own several other outliners and this beats them all. If you are a visual thinker you'll really like this way of organizing your thoughts, if not, one of the text-based outliners is probably better for you. There have been steady improvements through the versions.
