MPFreaker ReviewDon't waste your time on this application - Version: 1.8.3, 9/13/2009 09:54AM PST

This application is too buggy to pay for. And it doesn't do a good job retrieving information. I did my own album covers, so I unchecked that option - yet the app. still replaced my artwork with terrible pics. And it doesn't pull genres from the internet. If you have any incorrect genres for a certain artist, it will use that genre for all songs my that artist.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP.

It works well enough to get most lyrics most of the time - Big time saver - cheap date for so much time saved. Keep up the good work

This is really a fantastic application. I have more than 19000 titles in my iTunes collection and more than 90% of the lyrics and covers are found with MPFreaker.
It’s really worth each cent…

MPFreaker ReviewOf marginal utility - Version: 1.8, 12/8/2008 02:46PM PST

The trial version lets you modify 3 tracks. It took 15 tries to find 3 tracks that it could modify. In only one case did it find album artwork (all tracks I tried lacked artwork, my primary interest). In another case it added lyrics (to Jingle Bells, no less!) and in another it found some incidental album info. But it couldn't find info on a bunch of commercial CDs, including issues by Diana Krall, Dave Brubeck or Alfred Brendel, all on major labels. So, for the moment, I'll keep my money.

MPFreaker CommentaryGreat application - Version: 1.8b11, 10/1/2008 06:27PM PST

Great app. It's stable on my system and I gave it a real workout. It found lyrics for about 2/3 of my library, which is pretty good considering all the esoteric stuff I have. It also found quite a bit of artwork. I just hope there's either a new beta or a stable release soon since 1.8b11 is going to stop working in a few hours.

Not many applications get my money this fast.

The beta only updates 3 tunes per launch. Not enough to give it a good test.
It looked promising on the bit of testing I did.

Sorting by lyrics column flakey, and eventually crashed.

Incorrect data.. typos in the 'corrected' id3 data.. wrong artist / album info on a lot of tracks.. incorrect album art.. no comment editor.. and the worst part (besides paying for this POS) there isn't an 'UNDO' option..

If you turn this thing loose on your iTunes library, you better be selective about which files you allow it to do its thing with.. I screwed up and let it have its way with my entire library.. It replaced well over half of my album artwork (from iTunes) and re-wrote a lot of the album info (from iTunes) with bogus entries that only an eleventeen year old could have come up with.

You are better off (and have more control) using the 'get info' selection directly in iTunes than to use this twenty dollar turd..

I like it that much I bought it. It does what it says it will, it hasn’t crashed or caused any problems. With that and beaTunes I’ve never had such a well sorted music collection

MPFreaker Troubleshooting Reportno more lyrics or artwork columns - Version: 1.7.4, 3/23/2008 11:48PM PST

This program doesn't work that well anyway, but one thing is that you could have it search for files with no artwork or lyrics, because it had columns that indicated it, this improvement elimated that usefullness. With this version you can't because you have to go into itunes and write down which ones don't and then go back and add them one by one to mpfreaker. It used to show if a file had lyrics and or artwork. There is no email support, you have to sign up for some bs forums and get help that way which usually is a dead end....
