Would be nice to enter the serial even as you have been running as demo without having to startover. After all, what is more than runnning as demo and when finding messages wanting to retrieve them?
Secondly, better indication of the order of the list, so one can tell the recieved date and only export messages from before your last backup
Also, it should be optional and turned off as default that PowerMail Salvage add headers to recovered messages. That's tainting the messages meant to be recovered! Bad idea!
Also, while I respect the time devoted,$29 would be a more fitting price.

I had the unfortunate experience of having PowerMail crash during a low-level rebuild of the database. I had rolled the dice and lost - I didn't make a backup right before the rebuild. I had a backup that was a few weeks old, but really needed the last few weeks worth of email. PowerMail Salvage was able to retrieve all the messages.

Not a lot of documentation, but then, it's pretty simple to use. Some of my email messages that were recovered were missing the dates and subject lines, so I emailed the author about it. He responded with a fix the next day. Great support!

Some may think it's a little pricey for shareware at first glance, but if your email is important to you, this is a bargain.
